Our emphasis is to support and inform the teaching parent in their adventure to homeschool. We have found that when the parents' homeschooling needs are met, the children's needs will be met.
We have a monthly Parent Night meeting where we make annoucements, network with other homeschoolers, and have a led discussion on a particular topic. These meeting are like "mini-workshops". Planned activities and field trips are important, but not our main focus. Our group activities are not scheduled by leadership, instead they are strictly parent-initiated on a volunteer basis and announced in our monthly newsletter. We have a lending library with a collection of books, tapes, articles, and other resources.
Our annual dues are $10.00. This enables the member to receive the newsletter and to check out library materials. There are no limitations on membership. Membership is not required to participate in any meeting or activity. All that support the homeschooling movement are welcome in our group.
