Earth Science Workbooks Donated

HEIR recently received a donation of about 300 earth science workbooks. "Earth Science: Tables and Tabulations" by late author Lorraine Conway is Book 10 in the "Superific Science Series" published by Good Apple Books in 1984. The 60 page workbook, written for grades 5-8, devotes a page each for such topics as electromagnetic waves, light waves, tabulating sounds, making a hygrometer, tabulating the wind, measuring temperature, making a rain gauge, reading a weather map, and tabulating solar system facts.

Jim Conway, husband of the late author, donated the books after he read about HEIR in the AJC. He stipulated that the books be given away; not sold. HEIR is pleased to help with the workbooks' distribution. They will be available at HEIR's table at upcoming events while the supply lasts. If you will mail to HEIR a SASE large enough to hold a 8 1/2" x 11 1/2" workbook and with $1.65 postage, HEIR will, as long as supplies last, mail you a workbook. After they are all gone, we'll either use the SASE for another purpose or send you something else we hope will be useful.
