HEIR is saving the big web money by using volunteers for maintaining its web site.
However, to pay for repair and improvements to its website, HEIR needs:
Regular monetary support to pay for the recent move of its website to a fully supported paying-customer status because:
The ISP (Internet Service Provider) that had been providing a complementary
web hosting service went out of business. The ISP that took over
their accounts also donated the service but was unable to provide all the
features on which HEIR had come to depend.
That temporarily resulted in the loss of HEIR's:
On-line registration forms
Ability to add new forms as needed
Counter by which the number of visits to the website can be tracked and displayed
E-mail accounts for communicating with HEIR about:
The contents of the website and general HEIR or homeschooling issues
The technical structure and workings of the website
Complimentary accounts do not receive the same prompt and careful services as paying customers
One of HEIR's goals is to promote a dialogue about various homeschooling
issues.
Since HEIR has upgraded its web service provider, we have been able to
add a feature to allow on-line discussions to take place on
various subjects.
