Amanda Williams, a sixth grade homeschooler and flutist from Cumming, Georgia, was selected to participate in All-State Middle School Band. She will be the only homeschooler in this year's band. She placed second in the ninth district auditions and went on to state level auditions. Out of an estimated thousand flutes, nearly a hundred made it to the state audition. Twelve flutists were selected from the sixth through eigth grade applicants; Amanda placed as fifth chair. The All-State band will perform in Savannah, Georgia on May 6th at the Civic Center. Amanda will be there representing homeschoolers among the best musicians in the state.
