More on the New University System Admission Policy

On March 25, Dr. Barry Fullerton (Vice Chancellor for Student Services) confirmed that the four SAT II tests would be required for students planning to enroll for the Fall term of 1997, 5 months from now. When asked if the implementation schedule was not a bit harsh, Dr. Fullerton indicated that the plan had been approved by the Regents and the Chancellor, and that there were three more test dates at which all four of the required tests would be available.

This means that any homeschooler planning to attend any unit of the University System of Georgia MUST register for, take, and pass the SAT II tests. The cut scores still have not been set. If and when we learn what the cut scores are, we will post that information.

Dr. Fullerton also indicated that the individual units of the University System could, at their discretion, admit certain applicants as "Presidential Exceptions". However, this probably would be considered only for students with very high SAT scores, in the range of 1350 and above. Even those students still will be considered CPC deficient, and will have to demonstrate that they have satisfied the CPC requirements before receiving a degree.
