Capitol Day for Home Educators

Capitol Day for Home Educators was held on Thursday, February 5, 1998. Like last year's it was organized by GHEA and TeenPact.

HEIR accepted the invitation to have a table and provided a handout for each legislator. These are different than the packets GHEA provided. It was up to homeschoolers attending to pick up and personally deliver the handout for their two legislators. As usual, HEIR's display included information about the latest legislative and Board of Regents issues.

HEIR's President, Dr. Leon F. McGinnis, participated in the press conference by reporting on HEIR's meeting with the staff of the Board of Regents. He was followed by several of the candidates for Governor and Lt. Governor
