HOW CAN ACCREDITATION AND RECOGNITION BE ACHIEVED FOR
Home Schooling?
Tutorial Instruction?
Private Study?
or
Other Forms of Independent Study?

  •      Establish a professional CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT STUDY to assist learners of non-traditional patterns of education in academic achievement, in evaluation and in completing a diploma from an accredited educational agency.

~

WHAT IS A CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT STUDY?

  •      It is a professional helping agency that is locally established and managed by a group of home school parents, or by an existing school, or by a church, or by an educational agency. It enrolls the independent study students and assumes accountability for academic credits.

~

WHAT IS THE ACCREDITING COMMISSION FOR INDEPENDENT STUDY?

  •      It has been established as a non-profit non-government, non-sectarian incorporation for the purpose of giving a professional endorsement to Centers for Independent Study. The Commission is composed of professional educators who are experienced in accreditation and directors of Centers for Independent Study. The Commission gives assistance to the centers in meeting the goal of professional recognition for independent and home study.
