Beginning July 1, 2012 and continuing with the 2012-2013 year, parents who homeschool will need to send their Letter of Intent to Homeschool AND a yearly attendance form to the State Department of Education - not to the local school superintendent.
Attendance forms are no longer required only a monthly basis. They only need to be submitted once a year. If you mail your forms, send them to: Georgia DOE, Homeschool Division, 205 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive, SE, Suite 1754 Twin Towers East, Atlanta, GA 30334. FAX: 404-463-0441
Information about the new reporting law can be found here. http://www.doe.k12.ga.us/Curriculum-Instruction-and-Assessment/Pages/Home-Schools.aspx
You have until September 1, 2012 to submit your "letter of intent" and your "attendance report" even if you start before that date.
Feel free to use this form that complies with the current Georgia Homeschooling law. The State Department of Education has been informed of some issues with the online reporting form and we are not sure all those issues are rixed yet.
