I am new here and looking for help! I will be homeschooling my 2nd grader after the holidays. I would like to use my local school for music, art, pe. Does anyone know what my rights are regarding this?

As I understand the Georgia laws on homeschooling, the law is silent on this matter: There is nothing providing that child in a homeschool has access to any public school classes or extracurricular activities and there is nothing in the law defining that it is not permissible either.

With that said, it seems the decision can be made by each local BOE. In the county I live and surrounding counties as well, only those students enrolled in public school has any access to the classes offered at public school. (I personally do not know of any county in Georgia allowing homeschoolers access to public school classes.)

On the other hand, there are quite a few homeschool co-ops and schools that have such classes throughout the state.
